The future of C# games? ANX vs MonoGame?

With Windows 8 and Visual Studio 2012 the future of the next generation of managed C# code game developers is obviously not apparent.

What's difference between ANX and MonoGame? Where can a game programmer, who fell in love heads over heels with C# and XNA, truly call their home in the near future? What about Xbox 360? With creating a clone of XNA, are these libraries limited to being backwards compatible with the original XNA framework so our games can deploy to Xbox 360 and Windows Phone? What about the future? Can we make a better version of the XNA framework for everyone at the consequence that it's not backwards compatible? Is this an opportunity to expand the target platform of XNA to other platforms like Mac OS X and Linux?

What are we existing C# game developers to do? What are new C# game developers to do?
